Google Flow
OVERVIEW
Flow is Google's latest AI filmmaking tool built with and for creatives using Google's Video Generation model, Veo. I worked closely with the Creative Lab to help shape Flow's motion branding and art direction, and to strategize its application in everything from the in-product UI to its marketing assets.

About the project
The core concept for Flow is called: Infinite Soup. A visual metaphor for the boundless potential of generative AI, where everything can become anything. We honor the content: All colors are pulled directly from the content, videos emerge from the soup, and the soup itself shows the infinite possibilities of what you can make. It's about bringing your blurry ideas into clarity and visualizing the diffusion process in a brand new way.

As a Motion Designer, I worked on the motion branding system that exists in both the Flow tool, as well as FlowTV. I was also the sole animator and editor for the official Flow Sizzle in addition to conceptualizing, co-writing,, and storyboarding the sizzle to officially launch Flow during Google IO 2025 at the Shoreline Ampitheatre (also released on Youtube). I also worked on the animated sequences in the FlowTV Sizzle that was released on X to advertise the new Veo3 Channel launches. that I also assisted in ideating and generating.

To visualize the journey from idea to creation, I designed a core visual formula. It starts in a swirling, monochromatic void, representing the ambiguity of an initial thought. As inspiration strikes, this world is infused with color, and the video content crystallizes, emerging from a blur into sharp focus. This progression mirrors how Flow empowers users to transform abstract concepts into tangible, clear realities—a journey from blur to clarity, all made possible by the tool. This is applied to video generations, video extensions, channel transitions, and even to the sizzles that promotes Flow.

To launch 'Flow,' we needed a sizzle reel that did more than just showcase features; it had to capture the feeling of creative momentum.

My core creative idea was to articulate the internal process of entering a "flow state" using relatable, everyday language, and then visually represent that mental journey using the tool's features as metaphors. The final video features AI filmmakers and creators sharing their personal experiences with creativity, complemented by stunning visuals generated within Flow itself. As the sole editor and animator, I guided the project from conceptualization and storyboarding through final design and editing to create a seamless and impactful narrative.

FlowTV is a lean-back experience that lets you click through a seemingly endless carousel of AI-generated clips. It's a showcase for the best AI clips produced by Veo, which included only Veo2 model back during its initial official launch in May.

However, with Veo3's release, the team at the Creative Lab immediately jumped into action to start producing Veo3 channels now with audio, sound, music, dialogue.

To advertise the launch of the new Veo3 channels in addition to the Veo2 channels that already exist in FlowTV, the team decided to do a mega sizzle of this update. As the Motion Designer in the team, I collaborated closely with the designer to storyboard what those animated scenes will look like that will fit into the perfect moments of the whole hype edit sizzle that the Editor and Writer have made. I also made video generations to ideate what the new Veo3 channels are, and one of my channels were released called, 'Felt Cute'

I thought that a Veo3 channel where you can both see and hear cute animals in the texture of semi-realistic semi-toy-like would be extremely adorable, as they do dumb cute actions.

On the left is one of the prompts used that successfully curated this consistency within all the videos in the channel.

Google IO Keynote + Sandbox Demo
I had the golden opportunity to fly to Mountain View for the annual Google IO event. I was able to preview my Flow Sizzle screening several times before the actual keynote day to ensure that everything looks good on the big screen. I also had shifts for the Sandbox Demo for Flow, where I introduced the Flow experience to many attendees, including Press, other companies, Youtubers, and more.
