SKY Castle is a South Korean TV series that aired in 2018-2019, a show about desires, goals, and avarice of upper-class families as they strive for power, greed and status through academia. We rebranded the show by creating a title sequence and branding package that ties the themes together.

Title Sequence

This project is a collaboration between Isabelle Kalyn and I, where we researched the TV series, the show's broadcasting network, conducted primary research (survey) and analyzed their existing branding package.

Our concept for our title sequence is amplified through the authenticity of the characters and their intriguing stories, as it explores the way they obscure immorality in pursuit of power, greed and social status - the road to perdition, the sins of mankind. We have incorporated some of the unexpected plot twists, visual metaphors and foreshadowing dialogues through the design language used in our title sequence. 

Rebranding Package

To complement the main title sequence, we developed a comprehensive broadcast and social media toolkit. This package provided a full suite of on-air graphics, including lower thirds, bump outs, and credit squeezes, alongside assets for digital promotion like social trailers and looping mortises. Every element was meticulously designed to align with the core visual language, ensuring a cohesive and consistent brand identity for the series across all platforms.

I also researched a lot of how South Korean TV drama series are being edited to entice their target audience on socials in order to edit the promo trailer.
